Wild is the Witch by Rachel Griffin - wonderful witchy vibes

"I'm as wild as the magic in my veins and the dust of the stars."

Iris is a witch who has an affinity for animals. When she accidentally releases a rogue curse into the world, it’s swallowed up by a spotted owl. Now she must track the owl and remove the curse. The only problem? Pike Alder is the boy she intended to curse, and he’s stuck with her, traipsing through the wilderness.

This was a light, quick read, but Rachel Griffin has such a beautiful way with words; it's easy to feel a connection with the nature and magic in her stories.

With evocative writing and a cleverly woven plot, Wild Is The Witch flowed beautifully with well-executed character arcs, secrets and curses gone wrong, combined with slow-burn romance and fast-paced tension.

I appreciated Pike's sarcasm - he and Iris had excellent banter... enemies to lovers is one of my favourite tropes! And I also thought the elemental / natured-based magic was cleverly done, especially the way animals are drawn to Iris.
